The Commission is reporting
adjustments/decreases in this information collection. Based on
updated information from the U.S. Census Bureau and NENA, as well
as a review of the number of Richardson filings the Commission has
received in recent years, the total number of respondents decreased
from 478 to 22 (- 456), the total number of responses decreased
from 482 to 23 (- 459), and the total annual burden hours decreased
from 1,554 to 70 (- 1,484). These adjustments/decreases are
primarily due to a steep decline in the number of wireless carriers
filing certifications under this information collection. There are
no program changes.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control
number;
