Abstract: This Information Collection Request (ICR) describes the burden and costs associated with revisions included in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES): Applications and Program Updates Final Rule and corresponding revised application forms. This effort refines the content, consistency, and clarity of the eight NPDES application forms, improves timeliness and environmental effectiveness of NPDES permitting decisions, and modernizes the methods available to permitting authorities to public notice permit actions.

Short Statement: Revised forms consistent with the final rule and clarified instructions and forms to refine the content, consistency, and clarity of the eight NPDES application forms. O&M costs is also estimated to be reduced by creating new regulatory flexibility to allow public notice using readily available information technology (public websites).
