Abstract: The primary goal of this study is to develop new knowledge in regards to fall-prevention of workers in small wholesale and retail businesses. Specifically, occupational safety related decision-making processes of small business owners and operators will be studied. Data collected will allow NIOSH researchers to formulate theories on safety-related decision making and may be used to inform efforts aimed at increasing the adoption of fall-prevention technologies in small businesses.
