Abstract: This is a randomized household survey of 1) residents of New Hampshire, 2) residents of Massachusetts in block groups bordering the Hampton-Seabrook Estuary, and 3) residents of Maine in block groups bordering the Piscataqua River. This study will: 1) document perceptions of weather and climate effects and adaptation strategies, 2) estimate the ecosystem services values derived from shoreline treatment options within the coastal New Hampshire region, and 3) develop demographic profiles of residents who visit or live in the region. This research will support existing work within the region, including the Buffer Options on the Bay project, New Hampshire Smart Shorelines project, and the Northeast Regional Ocean Council Regional Resilience Project.
