Abstract: The SNMCS-II will provide a comprehensive picture of the school meal programs in SY 2019-2020 along key domains including the nutritional content of school meals, meal costs and revenues, student participation, plate waste, and dietary intake. Findings from SNMCS-II will be compared to findings from SNMCS-I (SY 2014-2015) to explore trends in these key domains.

Short Statement: This is a new information collection for the School Nutrition and Meal Cost Study-II (SNMCS-II). The data collected from this study will provide FNS with a comprehensive picture of the school meal programs in SY 2019-2020 and will examine the costs of producing school meals in certain States and Territories. This information collection will add 26,438 burden hours and 47,583 responses to OMB's inventory as a result of program changes.
