Start of Block: Default Question Block
The Justice Programs Office (JPO) at American University, on behalf of the Bureau of Justice
Assistance (BJA), is conducting the State Coordinator Survey as part of the Annual Treatment
Court Survey Series. The information you provide in this survey will contribute to a better
understanding of treatment courts throughout the country.
Your Participation
You will be asked a series of questions about treatment courts in your state/territory. Questions
address how many exist, who they serve, and how they operate, as well as your perceptions
about their successes and challenges. The survey may take up to 30 minutes to complete
based on available information and the length of your responses.
Risks and Benefits
Your participation is completely voluntary and poses little risk to you. Your responses will be deidentified, meaning that answers will be kept separate from identifying information through the
use of assigned code numbers. Further, results will be reported in aggregate for the entire group
as a whole (e.g., 90% of states/territories have policies on medication-assisted treatment).
For your participation, you will receive the final report the survey results. Additionally, you will be
directly contributing to the learning and improvement of treatment courts and the treatment court
field.
Contact Information
If you have questions about the survey, please contact JPO at 202-885-1580, Dr. Julie Baldwin
at [email protected], or Mr. Zephi Francis at [email protected].
You may also contact the AU Research Compliance Manager at 202-885-3447.
