SUBJECT: Change Request to a Currently Approved Form Conference, Meeting, Workshop, and Poster Session Registration Generic Clearance (OD)

(OMB # 0925-0740, Expiration Date 7/31/2022)

In addition to the previous uses of this clearance, NIH proposes to broaden the scope of this clearance while maintaining the same purposes. NIH would like to register researchers and projects for dissemination, guidance, and program development by collecting general information (name, institution, and email address). This allows any individuals interested in a certain topic to sign up for alerts that NIH may send in the future, and at the same time allows NIH to identify individuals interested in various topics with a goal to potentially contact them in the future to get feedback on the topic of interest.

The various types of information collected through this clearance may also include details of research/educational tools and resources (name of the resource, web URL, resource description), website feedback, and nominations (information about nominators and descriptions of the nominees’ accomplishments). This allows NIH to 1) receive information about any available tools and resources that the scientific community might volunteer so that NIH can post this information on the website to make it more broadly available and useful to the community, 2) receive feedback about the tools and resources available on the NIH website, and 3) receive nominations from the scientific community to select awardees.

Your full consideration is appreciated.
