When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard? |
For a vessel seeking an initial certification as an offshore supply vessel, the information must be submitted to the Coast Guard (CG) before a determination can be made. For a vessel that has previously been certified and seeks a renewal of its certification, the information must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of the Certificate of Inspection. |
How is the information submitted? |
In writing or electronically via e-mail to the CG’s Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI) or the CG Marine Safety Center (MSC). What happens when complete information is received? |
The CG will review the information and determine if a vessel is eligible to receive certification as an offshore supply vessel. If it qualifies, an offshore supply vessel will receive a Certificate of Inspection valid for five years. |
