Recruitment Email for Job Search Study Recruitment

Dear [Contact Name]:

The Office of Policy Support has recently begun a study to describe the role of job search activities in State E&T programs in terms of integration with other program components and impacts on SNAP E&T participants.  Study findings will be drawn from in-depth case studies in four States. FNS has contracted with Insight Policy Research to conduct this study. Please see the attached study description for more detail.

FNS plans to recruit study States representing a mix of approaches to job search, provider characteristics, caseload characteristics, and national regions. The four States we hope to recruit are:  New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Arizona. FNS believes these States have important perspectives to offer on job search tactics and their integration with broader State-level employment and training objectives. All study States will be asked to participate in one site visit in which the research team will conduct interviews with a handful of State and local SNAP staff, E&T job search providers, and other stakeholders. The State will also be asked to provide administrative and UI participant data to aid the research team’s quantitative analysis of employment outcomes linked to job search. Findings from this study will be valuable in helping FNS advance evidence-based best practices for E&T policy and its efforts to promote economic self-sufficiency for SNAP participants.

I will email the SNAP Directors in these four States later this week to encourage their participation in the study and let them know that Insight will reach out to schedule a call to discuss participation in the study.

If you have any concerns, please let me know. If you have any questions about the study, please contact project officer Danielle Deemer at (703) 305-2952 or at [email protected].

Thank you,

Kathryn
