Abstract: Staff at the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) agree with staff from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) that first responders may communicate with base station repeaters in the other country provided the licensee of the base station repeater first issues its written consent to the licensee of the responder’s radio. Staff at PSHSB advises applicants to include a description of how it intends to interoperate with licensees from Canada if it is filing an application to operate under any of the cross-border scenarios described in Public Notice DA 16-739.
