1. ☐ DOWNLOAD GUPS AND SHAPEFILES – The U.S. Census Bureau’s (Census Bureau) Geographic Update Partnership Software (GUPS) is a free, self-contained Geographic Information System (GIS) update and processing package. GUPS uses Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) partnership shapefiles. GUPS allows you to add external geospatial data (shapefiles, geodatabases, and imagery) for comparison and update purposes. GUPS functions on Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7, 8, and 10. It also supports Apple Mac OS X, which requires a MS Windows license and bridge software (Boot Camp recommended).
