“Talk. They Hear You.”®: Electronic Invitation for Parents

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

The safety and well-being of our students continue to be our top priority. Given the negative consequences associated with underage drinking, we have partnered with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, on an underage drinking prevention initiative. This initiative will involve the participation of students and parents/caregivers in two brief surveys regarding underage drinking–related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

We hope that you, as parents and caregivers, will take advantage of this opportunity by agreeing to complete the first survey, which may be accessed using the link below. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes of your time; all of your answers will be confidential.

If school is not in person: If you prefer to complete a paper version of this survey, please email SAMHSA at [email protected] and a survey will be sent to you via the U.S. Postal Service, along with a stamped and addressed return envelope. When the survey is completed, we ask that you place it in the envelope and mail it back to us. Your answers will be kept confidential.

In addition to your participation, we are also asking for your children’s participation. Due to the sensitive nature of the brief survey questions (e.g., attitudes about drinking, drinking behavior), we require your permission for your children’s participation. Please be reassured that your children’s answers will be kept confidential.
