Abstract: NOAA requests the renewal of data collection requirements for the licensing of private operators of remote sensing space systems. The data in the applications for license and subsequent reports are needed for compliance with the Land Remote Sensing Policy Act of 1992 and with the national security and international obligations of the United States of America.

Short Statement: Several ICs were removed as it has been determined that they are no longer relevant to the license determination process. Several ICs have been added that were reflected in the 2017 renewal package but inadvertently omitted from the previous IC list in ROCIS. Also, the industry is growing so more applicants and licenses have increased the burden. The annual cost burden has decreased as a result of the removal of several ICs, as well as the fact that submissions are now submitted via e-mail, so there are no copying, faxing, or postage costs.
