material or nonsubstantive change to a currently approved
collection
The Commission is submitting a
non-substantive change request to an existing information
collection pursuant to 44 U.S.C. § 3507. This submission seeks to
update the Annual Collection of Information Related to the
Collection and Use of 911 and E911 Fees by States and Other
Jurisdictions. The purpose of the information collection is to meet
the Commission’s ongoing statutory obligations under the New and
Emerging Technologies 911 Improvement Act of 2008, Pub. L. No.
110-283, 122 Stat. 2620 (2008) (NET 911 Act), which requires the
Commission to submit an annual report, “detailing the status in
each State of the collection and distribution of such fees or
charges, and including findings on the amount of revenues obligated
or expended by each State or political subdivision thereof for any
purpose other than the purpose for which any such fees or charges
are specified.”
