Abstract: The Hydrography Maintenance Portal (HMP) is a website used by editors to ‘check out’ hydrography data from the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). Editors can update the checked out data using a geographic information system (GIS), and subsequently check the data back into the official version of the NHD managed at the USGS after editing.
