Committee (FGDC) endorsed the Coastal and Marine Ecological
Classification Standard (CMECS) as the National standard for
classifying and characterizing coastal and marine habitats. The
FGDC requires regular review and maintenance of National standards

Solicitation for Revisions form for the CMECS will provide standard
managers with the necessary data and information to make these
mandatory revisions and updates on a periodic basis.
