Abstract: The ICR is being submitted to add reporting requirements on long term natural gas contracts held by permit holders. Information from FE-746R is necessary to perform required functions related to applications for authority to import and/or export natural gas and to monitor such trade. The information collection pertains to prices and volumes authorized for import and export by the Department of Energy. Applications are required by statute and provide the decision-maker and public with information used in considering applications. Monthly reporting is required to monitor trade and compliance with terms of authorizations. Authorized entities must report information pursuant to their authorizations. Respondents are entities seeking such authority to engage in import/export transactions of natural gas.

Short Statement: This ICR changes the reporting requirements for permit holders and requires them to provide additional information. This information includes: long-term contracts associated with the supply and sales of natural gas, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, and associated products; changes in control of authorization holders registrations of agents who import and export natural gas; and for long-term LNG export authorization holders, semi-annual reports detailing information on the status of the proposed or operating LNG export facilities, the date the proposed LNG facilities are expected to commence first exports of LNG, and the status of any related long-term supply and sale/purchase agreements.
