Pursuant to Executive Order 12829, "National Industrial Security Program" (NISP) and in accordance with DoD Directive 5105.42, DCSA is responsible for managing, administering, and implementing the NISP on behalf of DoD and 31 other federal agencies. The requested system, NISS, provides DCSA a central repository for management and maintenance of all cleared contractor information (facility security clearance, key management personnel, safeguarding capabilities, classified program information, foreign ownership control & influence) participating in the NISP.
