What is this collection about? |
The certificates issued by the Coast Guard (CG) are evidence of compliance with the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (SOLAS) for certain U.S. vessels on international voyages. Without the proper certificates or documents, a U.S. vessel could be detained in a foreign port. |

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard? |
The information is not submitted to the CG. Upon successful completion of an inspection, the CG Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI) will issue the appropriate SOLAS Certificate(s). |
How is the information submitted? |
The information is not submitted to the CG. Upon successful completion of an inspection, the CG will issue the appropriate SOLAS Certificate(s). The SOLAS Certificate(s) should be posted on the vessel. |
What happens when complete information is received? |
Upon receipt, the SOLAS Certificate(s) should be posted on the vessel. |
