Results from this supplement will be
used to determine the size and characteristics of those who do not
file for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits and their reasons for
not filing. The data are necessary for the Department of Labor and
other policymakers to plan, fund, and evaluate UI
programs.

Based on the previous
supplement, the total number of estimated respondents has decreased
because the 2022 supplement will be administered to a smaller
sample. The 2018 supplement was administered to the full sample in
May and September (rotation groups 1 through 8). The 2022
supplement will be administered to half the sample in February 2022
(rotation groups 2, 3, 6, and 7) and the full sample in May 2022
(rotation groups 1 through 8).
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
