The Crime Control Act of 1990 (42
U.S.C. 13041) requires individuals who are providing child care
services to self-report any arrests, charges, or convictions of
specific offenses. Individuals are also required to indicate if
their actions have met the Family Advocacy criteria for child
maltreatment. Reporting is voluntary, but failure to furnish
required information may result in an unfavorable adjudication
decision and may affect suitability of working with or around
children.
