Abstract: The OCC is revising and requesting a new OMB control number for its form titled “Qualifying Activities Confirmation Request Form,” which is currently approved under OMB Control No. 1557-0160. The form was created to address the need for a qualifying activities confirmation process that allows banks and interested parties to ascertain whether an activity qualifies under CRA. The process was well received and strongly supported among commenters on the OCC ANPR and NPR that resulted in the 2020 final rule. We believe that there remains widespread support for such a system. Based on these considerations, the OCC determined that it was important to implement a better designed system that more effectively and efficiently allows confirmation of qualified activities. A marked copy is included with the IC reflecting the changes to the form.
