invites the general public and other
Federal agencies to comment on the
proposed and/or continuing information
collections pursuant to the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501
et seq.). This proposed information
collection was previously published in
the Federal Register (86 FR 35817) on
July 7, 2021, allowing for a 60-day
comment period. This notice allows for
an additional 30 days for public
comments. This process is conducted in
accordance with 5 CFR 1320.8. Written
comments and suggestions from the
public and affected agencies should
address one or more of the following
four points: (1) Whether the proposed
collection of information is necessary

Abstract: Section 253 of the
Immigration and Nationality Act (INA),
8 U.S.C. 1283, requires that a
nonimmigrant crewman found to be or
suspected of having any of the diseases
named in section 255 of the INA must
be hospitalized or otherwise treated,
with the associated expenses paid by
the carrier. The owner, agent, consignee,
commanding officer, or master of the
vessel or aircraft must complete CBP
Form I–510, Guarantee of Payment, that
certifies the guarantee of payment for
medical and other related expenses
required by section 253 of the INA. No
vessel or aircraft can be granted
clearance until such expenses are paid
or the payment is appropriately
guaranteed.
CBP Form I–510 collects information
such as the name of the owner, agent,
commander officer or master of the
vessel or aircraft; the name of the
crewmember; the port of arrival; and
signature of the guarantor. This form is
provided for by 8 CFR 253.1(a) and is
accessible at: https://www.cbp.gov/
