The purpose of this information collection is to establish the National Accuracy Clearinghouse nationwide. This will include State agencies uploading SNAP recipient information to a national database on a daily basis, checking for duplicate SNAP participation across states, and verifying questionable and unclear information with other states.
FNS is seeking a new OMB control number for the interim final rule, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Requirement for Interstate Data Matching to Prevent Multiple Issuances (87 FR 59633), and plans to merge into the primary OMB number 0584-0064 expiration 2/29/2024 following OMB approval. FNS is requesting 881,952.44 burden hours rounded to 881,953 burden hours. This includes 208,555 burden hours associated with start-up, and 588,649.15 ongoing State agency burden hours, and 84,748.29 individual/household burden hours. FNS is also requesting 20,205,993.28 annual responses. This includes 10,706 start-up responses, 19,120,749.14 ongoing State agency responses, and 1,063,832.14 ongoing individuals/households responses.
The total estimated number of respondents for this collection is 1,074,485.14 which includes 53 State agencies, the 10,600 eligibility workers who will receive training for the NAC, and 1,063,832.14 individuals/households who will participate in the NAC.
