Federally funded HEAL Initiative projects are targeted in this meeting, all those with efforts relating to the HEAL
Initiative, however broad, are encouraged to submit an abstract for the virtual event. Please coordinate with your lab
and/or research team to ensure duplicate abstracts are not submitted. If you are participating in a large, multicomponent/sub-project/site effort, multiple abstracts that address the different facets of your project may be
submitted.
All submitted General abstracts will be categorized by one of six research focus areas:
• Preclinical and Translational Research in Pain Management
• Clinical Research in Pain Management
• New Strategies to Prevent and Treat Opioid Addiction
• Translation of Research to Practice for the Treatment of Opioid Addiction
• Novel Medication Options for Opioid Use Disorder and Overdose
• Enhanced Outcomes for Infants and Children Exposed to Opioids
Submitted General abstracts will be used to create an online abstract book and poster assignments for the meeting.
These abstracts will be available publicly online. Poster content (level of detail determined by submitter) will be
available on-demand for the duration of the May 17-19 virtual event and for one year after the event. Poster presenters
may request to have their poster removed, but all abstracts will remain available on demand.
