The Year 1 burden estimate
decreased from our previous collection; however, CMS estimate the
annual burden for Year 2 and Year 3 to increase, resulting in an
overall increase in the average burden over the next three years.
Burden estimate are based on the potential number of prior
authorization requests from the previous Master List CMS 6050-F.
Since then CMS has broadened the criteria for the Master List
through CMS 1713-F, which significantly increases the number of
items on the Master List from which CMS can choose for required
prior authorization.
