The annual progress reports for the
Science and Technology Centers are necessary to allow the National
Science Foundation to closely monitor its large investment into the
six new centers. These centers are multi-instutitonal partnerships
of scientists and educators and are funded at a level of up to four
million dollars a year for up to ten years. The reports will be
used during annual evaluations of each center's progress and making
decisions about the next year's funding for the center. In
addition, the reports will be used in evaluating the STC program as
a whole and allowing effective management of the program.
One center was added, but the
burden hour has not changed.
