The Application for Approval to Participate in Federal Student Aid Programs (E-App), currently collects the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number from new schools and pre-populates
it for participating schools. The U.S. government is moving to replace use of the DUNS Number with a new unique entity identifier (UEI), per GSA Federal Register Notice 2019-14665 published
7/10/2019. This request is for removal of the DUNS number from this information collection effective April 4, 2022. FSA will populate the UEI into our systems, so no items are being added. See
attached partial E-App (pages 1-4) which illustrates the graying out of the DUNS collection box in Section A of the form.
