NOAA Corps officers operate vessels
and aircraft engaged in scientific
missions and serve in leadership
positions throughout NOAA. Persons
wishing to apply for an appointment in
the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps
must complete an application package,
including NOAA Form 56–42, at least
three letters of recommendation, and
official transcripts. A personal interview
must also be conducted. Eligibility
requirements include a bachelor’s
degree with at least 48 credit hours of
science, engineering, or other
disciplines related to NOAA’s mission,
excellent health, and normal color
vision with uncorrected visual acuity no
worse than 20/400 in each eye
(correctable to 20/20).

Abstract: The Bureau seeks comment
on regulations implementing

amendments to the Fair Credit
Reporting Act (FCRA) that assist
consumers who are victims of
trafficking. The information collection
would include a recent amendment to
the FCRA, would establish a method for
a victim of trafficking to submit
documentation to consumer reporting
agencies, including information
identifying any adverse item of
information about the consumer that
resulted from certain types of human
trafficking, and prohibit the consumer
reporting agencies from furnishing a
consumer report containing the adverse
item(s) of information. The Bureau is
taking this action as mandated by the
National Defense Authorization Act for
Fiscal Year 2022 and to assist
consumers who are victims of
trafficking in building or rebuilding
financial stability and personal
independence.
Request for Comments: Comments are
invited on: (a) Whether the collection of
information is necessary for the proper
performance of the functions of the
Bureau, including whether the
information will have practical utility;
(b) The accuracy of the Bureau’s
estimate of the burden of the collection
of information, including the validity of
the methods and the assumptions used;
(c) Ways to enhance the quality, utility,
and clarity of the information to be
collected; and (d) Ways to minimize the
burden of the collection of information
on respondents, including through the
use of automated collection techniques
or other forms of information
technology. Comments submitted in
response to this notice will be
summarized and/or included in the
request for OMB approval. All
comments will become a matter of
public record.
