Providers of advanced communications
services are prohibited from using Universal Service Fund (USF)
monies to purchase, maintain, improve, modify, obtain, or otherwise
support any equipment or services produced or provided by a company
that poses a national security threat to the integrity of
communications networks or the communications supply chain.
Pursuant to the Supply Chain Reimbursement Program, the Commission
has established requirements for the removal, replacement, and
disposal of covered communications equipment and service that pose
a national security risk.
The Commission is reporting
program changes to this information collection as a result of a new
requirement. The estimated total number of total annual responses
and total annual burden hours have therefore increased under this
OMB control number. The total annual responses increased from
10,250 to 10,325 (+75); the total annual burden hours increased
from 27,400 to 27,475 (+75); The total number of respondents
remains unchanged at 3,500. Also, the total annual costs remains
unchanged at $1,125,000. There are no adjustments.
