This information collection supports implementation of FDA's Animal Food and Egg Regulatory Standards Programs (the AFRPS and ERPS, respectively). Respondents to the information collection are State agencies that conduct feed or egg inspections and want to participate in implementing the standards.
This submission seeks to revise the information collection instrument related to the AFRPS and update the burden estimated for the ERPS to be consistent with estimates for other regulatory standards programs.
This information collection requests a program change revision. No change in burden is expected to be incurred with the implementation of the revised AFRPS.
However, based on a review of the information collection since our last submission, the estimated burden for the information collection reflects an overall adjustment increase of 188 responses and a corresponding increase of 2,817 burden hours.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
