In September 2020, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) awarded eight Human Trafficking Youth Prevention Education (HTYPE) Demonstration Program grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) to partner with a nonprofit or NGO to build the capacity of selected schools to provide skills-based human trafficking prevention education for educators, other staff, and students, and establish a Human Trafficking School Safety Protocol that addresses the safety, security, and well-being of staff and students. It is important for ACF to have robust understanding of project implementation. To address this need, the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation, in collaboration OTIP, proposes to conduct a process evaluation. The following information collection activities in support of this process evaluation and to generate knowledge about the implementation of the eight HTYPE Demonstration Grant projects: a survey of HTYPE student curriculum implementers, a survey of school administrators from schools participating in HTYPE programs, and interviews/focus groups with select staff from participating LEAs.
