Abstract: The Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey is a Federal/State establishment survey of wage and salary workers designed to produce data on current detailed occupational employment and wages for each Metropolitan Statistical Area and Metropolitan Division as well as by detailed industry classification. OEWS survey data assists in the development of employment and training programs established by the Perkins Vocational Education Act of 1998 and the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. Respondents include private establishment, schools, hospitals, State and Local Government.

Short Statement: Annual respondent burden for the OEWS survey has decreased from the last full clearance request, falling from 133,245 hours to 131,688 hours, primarily due to a decrease in response rates. The current estimate includes additional burden hours to conduct a test to collect extra data elements from employers within the State of Michigan. OMB approved this test on Nov. 7, 2022.
