booster_uptake7: U.S. health officials and medical experts now recommend additional COVID-19 doses after the initial vaccine series (two doses of Pfizer, Moderna, or Novavax; or one dose of Johnson & Johnson).

Updated vaccines are COVID-19 vaccines reformulated to better target Omicron variants, sometimes called “updated boosters” or “bivalent boosters.” Updated vaccines became available in early September 2022.
