This information is collected in
connection with HUD’s Housing Counseling Program and will be used
by HUD to determine that the grant applicants meet the requirements
of the Comprehensive Housing Counseling Program Notice of Funding
Opportunity (NOFO) and all other housing counseling requirements.
The information allows HUD to work with organizations that provide
tenant and homeownership counseling. Counseling helps tenants and
homeowners to improve their housing conditions and in meeting the
responsibilities of tenancy and homeownership. HUD-approved housing
counseling agencies can compete for program grant funds.

As for the Homeownership
Initiative Notice of Funding Opportunity grant, the previously
approved burden hours were 0; this is a new collection, and the
estimated annual burden is 2,968 hours. Therefore, the burden hours
are positive program changes.
