Abstract: Inappropriate antibiotic prescribing is a major driver of antibiotic resistance which is an urgent national and global health threat. Inappropriate prescribing contributes to avoidable adverse drug events that cause substantial harms to patients. Most antibiotic prescribing originates in traditional outpatient settings and at least 30% of these prescriptions are completely unnecessary. The IC will help investigators understand antibiotic prescriber knowledge, attitudes, and practices. This reinstatement includes minor changes.
