E3 Camp Dates and Times

oAugust 7-10, 2023
oAugust 14-17, 2023

oMonday – Wednesday: 8:00am-3:30pm
oThursday: 8:00am-3:45pm

Parents need to sign students in between 7:45 and 8:00am, and
must sign the students out no later than 3:30 pm Monday through
Wednesday, and 3:45pm on Thursday.

Camp Rules
•Respect the adults, the other students, the materials
and the classroom space. This includes but is not
limited to:
◦ Students will follow the directions of the camp staff.
◦ Students will use appropriate language.
◦ Students will keep their hands to themselves.
◦ Students will treat the materials with care.

•Electronics are permitted only during breaks and
lunch time.
•Students will refrain from touching electronics or
materials that do not belong to them.

Consequences for not
following the rules:
Warning
Cannot participate in an activity
Call to parent - possibly have child picked up for the day
Consideration for dismissal from the camp

Dress Code
•No sheer fabric of any kind
•Jeans or khaki pants
•Shorts, skirts or dresses that are at least thigh length
•Non-graphics shirts
◦ No spaghetti strap tops
◦ Tank tops are okay
•Flat and closed-toed shoes only.
◦ These are required for base tours.
◦ Flip-flops, “Crocs”, sandals and clogs are not permitted.
Some activities may get a little messy, so please dress accordingly.

Electronics
• No liquids at tables with government electronics.
• USB devices, CDs and DVDs are prohibited.
• Students are restricted from taking any photographs or videos
while on base.
• Students are restricted from accessing any websites other
than those directed by the camp leaders.

Lunch & Snacks
• Students are expected to bring their lunches and snacks,
and are expected to remain on premises. The schedule
does not allow for time to go out to eat.
• The classroom space does not have a refrigerator or
microwave, so please plan accordingly.
• Due to student allergies, foods containing
peanuts and other nuts are prohibited.

Health Issues
•Due to fragrance sensitivities, please refrain from
using colognes and perfumes.
•Notify Ms. Krater if the student:
◦ Needs to take medications during the day
◦ Has any medical conditions of which they need to be
aware

Travel Communications
•Carpooling
◦ If the student will be carpooling with other campers or signed in/out
by someone other than the parent/guardian on the registration form,
please bring a signed note on the first day of camp to authorize the E3
Camp Leaders to release the student into the other responsible
driver's custody.
◦ All individuals picking up a student will need to present a valid
government issued ID.
•If something happens and the student is going to be more than 15
minutes late or absent, please communicate promptly by phone with us:

Base Access Required
•Base Personnel Security requires that ALL students’
parents or guardians have base access via a Military or
Dependent ID, CAC, or a Visitor’s Pass. Parents or
guardians must have the pass on their person at all times
while on station.
•If the driver does not have base access, please refer to the
next slide for details on getting a temporary Visitor’s Pass.

Call Crystal Krater to provide DOB, city and state of birth, and SSN by Friday, July 14, 2023.
Download the SECNAV5512 form
 save
it to your computer, and complete it except for your signature.
a. For question #25, state “Crystal Krater - NAWCAD Strategic Education Office”.
b. Print and hand-sign the form with your wet signature.
c. Fax the signed SECNAV5512 form to the Gate 2 pass office at 301-342-4402 one week prior to the E3 Camp
start date.
a. Session 1: By Monday, July 31, 2023
b. Session 2: By Monday, August 7, 2023

Pick up your visitor pass on the Thursday prior to the E3 Camp start date.
a. Bring 2 forms of government issued ID (one with a picture) to the Gate 2 Pass Office to obtain your visitor
pass.
b. Gate 2 Pass Office is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 2pm.
c. Gate 2 Pass Office phone number is 301-342-3231.

Camp Location
•The Engineering Exploration Experience Summer Camp will be
held in Building 2956 on Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
Building 2956 is the old Cedar Point Federal Credit Union on
Cedar Point Road.

•For directions and a map to the building, please refer to the
following slides.
◦ If you have any questions or need assistance finding the
location on the day of the camp, please contact Crystal

•From Gate 1 (intersection of Three Notch Rd and Pegg Rd) – After guard
checkpoint – continue to the first intersection and traffic light:

Turn left at the traffic light onto Cuddihy Rd
At the end of Cuddihy Rd take the fork toward the right onto Tate Rd
Follow Tate Road to the stop light.
At the stop light, turn left onto Cedar Point Road.
Building 2956 is the first building on the right after you turn onto Cedar Point
Road.
◦ On the morning of camp, call Crystal Krater at (240) 717-6777 or Ellen
Servetnick at (240) 572-6018, for further assistance or directions.
