Sponsored by the National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST), the Manufacturing Extension
Partnership (MEP) is a national network of locally-based
manufacturing extension Centers working with small manufacturers to
assist them improve their productivity, improve profitability, and
enhance their economic competitiveness. The information collected
will provide the MEP with information regarding MEP Center
performance regarding the delivery of technology and business
solutions to U.S.-based manufacturers.
The number of estimated
potential annual respondents has increased from 13,000 to 14,500
due to increases in the number of clients reported to NIST MEP by
the MEP Centers.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
