Why am I getting this letter?
Enclosed is your Hogs and Pigs Survey. Please complete the
questionnaire at your earliest convenience. Your participation is
important. Your information will be used to produce detailed
statistics on market hog and breeding stock inventories as well as
pig crop and farrowing intentions.
If we do not hear from you, we may call you to schedule a phone
interview.
How will the data be used?

Complete your survey in one of the following
ways:
Online at www.agcounts.usda.gov.
Online reporting is fast and
secure. All you need is the unique
survey code on the enclosed form
to begin.
By mail or fax. Complete the
questionnaire and mail it back in
the prepaid envelope provided or
fax it to 855-415-3687.

The information collected in this survey allows NASS to
accurately measure and report conditions and trends in the U.S. pork industry over the course of the year. This
information is used by all sectors of the industry to help make sound and timely business decisions.
We recommend you respond online using the Respondent Portal. On the portal, producers can complete their
surveys, see previously reported data, access data visualization and reports of interest, link to other USDA
agencies, get a local weather update and more.
The information you provide will be used for statistical purposes only. In accordance with federal law, your
responses will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed in identifiable form. We will publish the survey findings
in the quarterly Hogs and Pigs report on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
