Abstract: An options disclosure document ("ODD") contains information concerning standardized options and options trading. An options market must file the ODD with the Commission prior to furnishing the ODD to customers, and must file amendments to the ODD if the information becomes materially inaccurate or incomplete. In addition, Rule 9b-1 requires a broker-dealer to furnish to each customer, and keep current, an ODD, prior to accepting an order to purchase or sell an option on behalf of that customer.

Short Statement: The net decrease in the estimated time burden (from 1,710 hours to 1,650 hours) is the result of two factors: (1) an increase in the estimated reporting burden for the options exchanges (from 384 hours to 408 hours) and (2) a decrease in the estimated broker-dealers’ burden of furnishing the ODD to customers (from 1,326 hours to 1, 242 hours). The increase in the reporting burden for the options exchanges is due to an increase in the estimated number of options markets that must comply with Rule 9b-1 from 16 to 17. The decrease in the broker-dealers’ burden of furnishing the ODD to customers is due to a decrease in the estimated number of broker-dealers that must comply with the rule from 1,020 to 955.
