Abstract: This non-substantive change request is to rename the SURRG package (OMB no. 0920-1242, exp 4/30/2025). to Combating Antimicrobial Resistant Gonorrhea and Other STIs (CARGOS). SURRG will also being combined with GISP (OMB No 0920-0307, exp 11/30/2024), as the two projects collect nearly identical data. Combining projects will streamline our efforts (fewer data elements) and reduce the burden on everyone involved, including participants.

Short Statement: The purpose of SURRG is to improve national capacity to detect, monitor, and respond to emerging antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea. The goals of this activity are to inform a more comprehensive understanding of trends and determinants of drug-resistant gonorrhea, monitor for the emergence of resistance, provide a robust evidence base for directing public health action, pilot novel prevention and control approaches, and evaluate the effectiveness of resistant gonorrhea novel prevention and control approaches. This request is for approval of 2,665 burden hours.
