Instrument 3: Group Interpretation Meeting Guide

[Note to OMB: These are example questions that are similar to the questions we will ask. We will tailor the questions based on the specific findings from the web-based survey].

Thank you for joining us today for this data interpretation group discussion. The purpose of this discussion is to share findings with you from the survey you completed and to hear your perspectives on the findings from the survey. As a reminder, the Supporting and Strengthening the Home Visiting Workforce SAS-HV) project is developing a measure of reflective supervision. We are planning to use the findings to help identify key elements of reflective supervision that might be important to include in a measure of reflective supervision that can be used in home visiting. Those of you who are here today are from different home visiting models and different regions of the country and you have different backgrounds that might inform your perspectives.

You have been asked to participate in this group discussion because you completed the concept mapping survey. As a reminder, your participation in this discussion is voluntary. Your individual remarks will not be attributed to you in any discussion of results or official reporting; they will only be presented as a group. We will be recording this meeting for note-taking purposes.

By participating in this group discussion, you give consent to have the group discussion recorded and your answers used as data in the project. Are there any questions before we get started?

    3. Was it easy or challenging to rate the elements?

  2. Now let’s look at the results of the survey. [Share visualization and briefly describe the process used to obtain]. What thoughts do you have about the conceptual groupings?

    1. Do these groupings make sense to you?

    2. How might you label or name these groupings?

  3. Now let’s look at the ratings for the elements.

    1. These elements were rated as both high in importance and relevance. Do you agree they are both important and relevant for the home visiting context?

    2. These elements were rated as high in importance but low in relevance. What do you think about these elements? What would make them more relevant?

    3. These elements were rated as low in importance. Do you all agree these elements are not important for home visiting? Why or why not?

  4. Is there anything else you would like to share about think is important to know? Either about your experience with the concept mapping activity or about the key elements?
