The BE-9, Quarterly Survey of Foreign
Airline Operators’ Revenues and Expenses in the United States will
obtain quarterly sample data on foreign airline operators’ revenues
and expenses in the United States. The data collected on the BE-9
survey are needed to measure U.S. trade in transport services and
to analyze the impact of U.S. trade on the U.S. and foreign
economies. The data are used to support U.S. trade policy
initiatives, including trade negotiations, and to compile the U.S.
international transactions and the national income and product
accounts.
There has been an overall
change in the number of reporters meeting the mandatory
requirements for filing on a quarterly basis, as well as a change
in composition of the types of responses (mandatory data, and
exemption claims) BEA anticipates receiving.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
