The information collection the Tribal Transportation Program Safety Fund (TTPSF) would require federally recognized Tribal governments (Tribes) to submit an application to be considered for a discretionary grant. Participation is voluntary but required to benefit from the TTPSF. Tribes are invited to apply for this grant on an annual basis during an application period of at least 90 days. The submittal discloses transportation safety needs and provides records necessary to demonstrate the need. Complete applications may include an application form, a project narrative, a transportation safety plan or study, photographs, and supporting reports of motor vehicle crashes. The applications are gathered for evaluation by the U.S. Department of Transportation and partners at the Bureau of Indian Affairs to select projects most likely to meet the congressionally established intent of the program to reduce fatal and serious injury motor vehicle crashes in Tribal areas.
