Abstract: In 2017, the Department of the Interior (DOI) convened its constituent Bureaus to address the threat of Dreissenid mussels (quagga and zebra mussels) in the western United States with special emphasis on preventing the introduction of these invasive species to the Columbia River Basin. As part of this effort, the participating Bureaus committed to advancing the actions summarized in the following plan: Safeguarding the West from Invasive Species: Actions to Strengthen Federal, State and Tribal Coordination to Address Invasive Mussels .
