Tribal Directory Assessment Tool (TDAT) was developed by HUD’s Office of Environment and Energy (OEE) to help users identify Tribes that may have an interest in the location of a HUD-assisted project, and provide tribal contact information to assist users with initiating Section 106 consultation under the National Historic Preservation Act (54 U.S.C. § 300101 et seq.).

PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT

The Privacy Act of 1974 as amended (5 U.S.C. 552a) and the National Historic Preservation Act (16 U.S.C. §§ 470a et seq. and 36 CFR part 800) authorize collection of this information. The purpose of this information is to display the most up-to-date contact information and information in on geographic areas, delineated by county, within which tribes believe historic properties may exist and the types of projects they wish to be notified about in HUD’s Tribal Directory Assessment Tool (TDAT). TDAT was created to expedite and streamline the efforts necessary to identify federally recognized Tribes that may wish to participate in the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 review of agency projects. Completion of this form is voluntary; however, failure to provide the information may result in outdated information being displayed in TDAT.


Public Burden Statement:

According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, no persons are required to respond to a collection of information unless such collection displays a valid OMB control number.  Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 15 minutes per response, including time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information.  The obligation to respond to this collection is mandatory (include legal cite)/required to obtain or retain benefit (include legal cite)/voluntary.
