Capability Utilization Assessment

External Stakeholder Feedback

Thank you for agreeing to provide feedback to NASA. Your responses are most helpful to us if provided on or before April 2, 2024. Responses and any questions should be emailed to [email protected]. If there are additional individuals in your organization who have participated in this program, you may provide this feedback form to them.

  1. Name and location of organization:

  1. Organization type (choose one):

Academia, DoD, Classified, US Commercial, Other US Govt Agency, International Commercial, International Govt. Agency

  1. Have you previously tested at TDT? If you have not, was it due to scheduling, cost, or some other reason?

  1. What alternative ground test facilities are, or could you consider for aeroelastic testing?

  1. Please rate NASA's performance on maintaining the TDT capabilities over the past 10 years.

If highly satisfied or highly dissatisfied, in particular, please explain why.

  1. Value of TDT testing capability

  1. What are the advantages of using NASA’s TDT?

  2. What are the disadvantages of using NASA’s TDT?

  1. Future Testing Needs

  1. Do you have tests in the next 10 years that would use TDT?

  2. Do you have tests in the next 10 years that you are considering other similar type facilities?

  3. What factors would encourage or discourage you from testing at TDT?

  4. Are there any improvements to the facility that you would like to see?

  5. NASA is interest in your organization’s possible TDT Utilization from 2025 to 2034 as we consider improvement. To the extent you have information for upcoming projects, please provide the following information:

  1. projected test's names

  2. organization performing test?

  3. fiscal year(s) of test

  4. estimated days or weeks of tunnel occupation.

  5. probability of test happening

  6. could it be performed at an alternative facility - why/why not & which facility(s)?

  1. Where do you think current and future computational simulation is going? Can it replace TDT type testing in the next 10 years?

  1. Any other comments or feedback related to TDT that the study team should consider?

Thank you for your time and input!
