Data collection requests information
on individual's arts experience and expertise, as well as contact
information. Information collected is necessary to fulfill the
National Endowment for the Arts' Congressionally-mandated
obligation to ensure that panels have diverse geographic, ethnic,
and artistic representation and that panelists serve no more than
three consecutive years.

The overall increase in burden
is due to an increase in the number of individuals who express an
interest in serving on NEA panels, as well as the need to recruit
more panelists to review the increasing numbers of applications
that the NEA receives.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
