The proposed Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Standard would add new collection of information requirements that would ensure the protection of indoor and outdoor workers from hazardous heat conditions in the workplace. These provisions would require employers to develop a worksite heat injury and illness prevention plan, review and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan, designate one or more heat safety coordinators to implement and monitor the plan, and develop a heat illness emergency response plan for employees experiencing signs and symptoms of heat related illnesses for indoor and outdoor workers.
