The EIA-63C collects monthly densified biomass fuel (aka pellet fuel) production, sales, and inventory levels from U.S. pellet fuel producers. These data are used to monitor the current status and trends of the pellet fuel industry. The data collected are published in various EIA reports and available through EIA's Internet site. Users of the data include Congress, other executive agencies, state governments, non-governmental organizations, private analysts and forecasters, and the general public.

The number of respondents changed from 106 facilities to 93 because 13 facilities went out of business, so they were no longer part of the frame. The total burden hours changed from 1,433 to 1,282 annual burden hours.
